By creating an account or using Cue at learningcues.org, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform. These terms form a binding agreement between you and the team that operates Cue.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cue. Students under 18 should have parental or guardian awareness before creating an account.
If Cue is deployed within a school district or educational institution, use may be governed by a separate Data Use Agreement (DUA) between Cue and that institution. In those cases, the DUA takes precedence over these terms where they conflict.
When you register, you agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure — do not share your password with anyone. One person, one account; creating duplicate accounts to bypass restrictions is not permitted.
Teacher accounts have elevated permissions: they can create classrooms, add students, create and assign flashcard sets, and view study progress for students within their classrooms. Teachers are responsible for using these permissions appropriately and in accordance with applicable school and district policies.

Cue includes an AI tutoring feature powered by a large language model. A few things you should know:
Teachers who create classrooms on Cue take on responsibility for appropriate use within those classrooms. Specifically:
You own the flashcards and other content you create on Cue. By creating content, you grant Cue a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the service — for example, syncing your cards across devices or showing them to students in your classroom.
You must not create, upload, or share content that is:
Cue reserves the right to remove content that violates these terms, with or without prior notice. Repeated or egregious violations may result in account suspension.
Cue may offer premium features or subscription tiers in the future. If and when paid plans are available, the specific billing terms — including pricing, billing cycles, refund eligibility, and cancellation — will be clearly presented at the point of purchase before any charge is made. Nothing in these terms creates a payment obligation unless you explicitly choose a paid plan.
Cue may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or pose a risk to the platform or its users. Where practical, we will notify you before taking action, but we reserve the right to act immediately for serious violations.
You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deletion, your account and associated personal data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or to resolve an active dispute.
Cue is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities.
Educational content on Cue — including library flashcards, AI tutor responses, and user-created cards — may contain inaccuracies. We make no guarantee of specific learning outcomes, test scores, grades, or academic results from using the platform.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cue and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the platform. This includes, but is not limited to, damages related to lost study data, inaccurate educational content, reliance on AI-generated answers, or service downtime.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of Cue shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or $0 if you have not paid us anything).
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Florida, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes — ones that meaningfully affect your rights or how Cue works — we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email to your registered address and/or an in-app notice when you next log in.
Continued use of Cue after the effective date of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with a change, you may delete your account before it takes effect.
